RECREATIONAL POTENTIAL OF ÇAMBAŞI PLATEAU OF ORDU PROVINCE

Abstract

In the busy urban life, sometimes people who are tired and worn out from nature show a tendency to be intertwined with nature from in order to be rested and renewed physically and psychologically. Recently people are demanding natural areas that are not destructed, and this shows how important the recreational potentials of these areas are.

In this study; it was aimed to determine the recreation potential of Çambaşı Plateau, which is located 60 km away from Ordu province center and which has a great interest for the people of the region to perform various activities throughout the year. In order to determine the recreational potential in the actual situation of the area, a method was by Gülez (1990), which was developed in accordance with the conditions of our country, allowing the recreation potential of the forest and open air area, was used in this study.

The results of this study show that Landscape Value 29, Climate Value 12, Accessibility 13, Recreational Convenience 14, Negative Factors -1 points, and the Recreation Value obtained by the sum of these values was found to be 66%. In the light of the assessment criteria set out by the method, the recreational potential is between 61-75%  and recreation potential has been identified as "high". In the light of these evaluations, SWOT analysis for the field was applied in terms of recreational tourism, and Strengths-Weaknesses and Opportunities-Threats were tried to be explained.
