Abstract

Dance in India includes many styles of dances, usually classified as traditional or folk. As with additional features of Indian culture. Folk dances are frequent in number and style and vary rendering to the local custom of the own state, ethnic or topographical regions. Bharatanatyam and other conventional dances in India were ridiculed and stifled during the colonial British Raj era. Classical dance of India has settled a type of dance-drama that is a form of a total cinema. Their productions have comprised melodies connected to Shiva-Parvati, Lanka Dahan, Panchatantra, Ramayana amongst others.
