MYTH AND ALLUSIONS IN ‘THE WASTE LAND
Keywords:

The title 'The Waste Land' suggest waste means sterile empty and land means the mind of a human. So it shows sterility and absentness of human consciousness. By going deep we have five components like Burial of the dead, A Game of Chess, The Fire Sermon, Death by Water, What the Thunder said. In this way we came to know the Mythical background of Waste Land. This poem contributes the spirituality with which Eliot answered to the western dilemma.
