BIO-FERTILIZER: REVOLUTIONIZING PADDY: FIELD HEALTH IN GORAKHPUR’S TERAI REGION

Abstract

The agricultural landscape of Gorakhpur, situated within the fertile Terai belt of Uttar Pradesh, faces a critical juncture. While the region is naturally endowed with high precipitation and alluvial richness, decades of intensive chemical farming have triggered a "plateauing" effect on rice yields.

This research explores the integration of microbial bio-fertilizers—specifically Blue-Green Algae (BGA), Azotobacter, and Phosphorus Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB)—as a sustainable alternative to traditional NPK inputs. Through a multi-seasonal field analysis (2023–2025), this paper demonstrates that a synergistic application of bio-agents not only restores soil microbial diversity but also increases the Head Rice Recovery (HRR) by 10.5%. The findings present a scalable model for a biological revolution, reducing farmer input costs by up to 30% while ensuring long-term ecological resilience.
