Abstract

Integrating renewable energy sources such as wind power into the grid poses challenges due to their intermittent nature. To address this, hydrogen fuel cell systems have emerged as a promising solution for storing excess energy generated during peak production periods. This review critically examines the application of hydrogen fuel cell technology as an electricity storage option within wind farms. Key aspects including efficiency, scalability, reliability, and economic viability are evaluated. Additionally, the synergies between wind power generation and hydrogen production are explored, highlighting potential benefits for grid stability and energy independence. The review concludes by discussing current limitations and future research directions to optimize the integration of hydrogen fuel cell systems in wind farms, thereby contributing to the advancement of sustainable energy solutions.
