POLICY INITIATIVES OF GOVERNMENT FOR SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN JHARKHAND

Abstract


Every year about 26.14 million people enter the work force age group in India, out of which 90% are male and 30% are female out of which at least 16.16 million needs to opt for  skill training for next 7 years. In  about 104.62 million new entrants will enter the work force age group in the next 7 years that is by 2022. Besides  to add extra stress on the job market another 298.5 million of existing farm and non farm sector workforce will also needed to be skilled, reskilled and upskilled.  For providing skill development training and to develop entrepreneurship massive scale programme is needed.After realizing the paradigm shift in  the skilling and entrepreneurship  partnership in the country and after experiencing the implementation of various skill development programme it is now important to go through the details of existing policies which is an amalgamation of skill and entrepreneurship. Various Skill development programmes launched by the Central Government over the years in almost 20 ministries/ Departments . These programmes has resulted in massive change in curricula, certification courses etc. At state level various State Skill Development Missions ( SSDMs) have been launched that are promoting capacity building and empowerment leading to skill development. Various programmes are providing free training schemes to promote quality and employability
